iPad 3G: Transfer 3G Antenna To New Glass

First I am not sure I am referring to this antenna correctly. On step 18 on this page it refers to this antenna as the GPS antenna:

Installing iPad 3G Front Panel Assembly

but on step 7 on this page:

iPad 3G Teardown

it sounds like it is referred to as the 3G antenna. Regardless I am trying to transfer the antenna pictured in step 7 on this page:

iPad 3G Teardown

I can get the antenna out from between the glass and the frame but without using a heat gun I see no way of getting the antenna back in the new glass (no mine did not come with the antenna, and no I did not get it at ifixit). I have tried placing the antenna in place but I get VERY poor 3G. I looks and sounds like this is do to how the antenna is supposed to use the frame as an antenna.

Does anybody have any experience with transferring the Apple antenna to a new frame that does already have an antenna?

Thanks.

iPhone: Why is my signal low after replacing the front screen?

Just a few days ago, I replaced the lcd and front screen after I dropped it and everything seems to have been replaced correctly. However, I get very low signal for calls/texting, if any at all. It constantly is "searching" for the network or at best, I get one bar. I was told to reconnect the small black adapter wire found above the speakers to the corresponding plug on the motherboard, but that doesnt seem to have done it. I also read that people SOLDER a piece together and it works perfectly??!! I don't know about going that extreme, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could identify what part might need reconnected!

Many Thanks!!!

iPhone 4: WIFI Antenna 4.8mm Screw (Lost "nut" for it)

I replaced the digitizer on my iphone and after reassembly I have almost no WIFI connectivity (or GPS). I know this is a problem that has already been addressed on this forum but my question is more specific.

When I removed the 4.8 mm screw for the WIFI antenna (the top long screw), when it came out it came out with a "nut" type thing attached to it. Basically it was like a metal nut that was square and would clip onto the board (so it stayed put when you inserted or removed the screw). It was a very small part.

Stupid me, I was like oh #*%!, how the #%^! am I going to get that back in there. Then when the screw "stuck" going back in, like there are threads below (this nut just seems to sit in between, perhaps ground the screw to something - like the motherboard or whatever that small piece connected to.

I have now lost that piece. I am afraid somehow this was the connection that allowed the screw to ground. From what I read this is the screw that grounds the wifi antenna. Which is also curious to me since on the antenna itself, it looks like it is all metal except where this screw is, it seems to be plastic or rubber (meaning it would insulate the screw) which would be weird for a grounding screw.

Does anyone know of the little part I am talking about and what its purpose is? If I lost it, is there anyway to get it or how to install it?

Also, just a side question, is GPS reception tied directly to the WIFI antenna?

Thanks
