iPod Classic: Battery problem in reassembly. Cable too short?

Hi guys, got a problem reassembling my iPod. I've changed my battery as wrote here:

Changing battery: not so difficult.

Yesterday I've reopened my device (for the 4th time, now I'm a great disassembler) and I try to clean the logic board and the dock connector. So I try to connect that to the wall charger, with everything open. After a few hours my battery is magically charged and it works! But when i close my iPod it doesn't work.

So the problem is that when my device is closed, the orange battery cable won't stay in the correct position, even though it's locked. Maybe that cable is too short.

How to solve my problem? Thanks!
