iPod Touch 2nd Generation: Why is my iPod stuck at a white screen?

I recently purcahsed a faulty iPod Touch on eBay and have been trying to fix it and have had a modicum of success. At first it wouldn't respond to any kind of power and so I ordered a replacement battery and it now is recognised in iTunes as an iPod Touch and can be synced to. The only problem was that the Display was just white. At first I thought this was because I'd damaged the display when I'd tried to fix another iPod so I ordered a new one but it still exhibits the same problem, does this mean the Logic Board has gone or is there another fix that I should try?

In addition when I connected it to iTunes I did a format to restore but the Display is still white.

Thank you very much

iPod Touch 3rd Generation: How do I fix a sunken in lock button?

Hello everyone! My girlfriend recently came across an annoying problem with an iPod Touch I gave her. The lock button appears to have sunken in, and is now flush with the frame of the iPod. She told me that it was sticky before it finally sunk. I know how to take the front panel off the iPod, and I have tried to pry the switch out without opening it. Do I need a new switch? Or do I need to pop it open and push the switch up?

Sorry for the wall of text. Thank you!

iPod Touch Iphone Logic Board Circuit Testing: How Can I Test iPod iPhone Circuit Logic Boards

Hello,

Does anyone know how I can test iphone ipod touch logic / Motherboards to find the faults ?

I spoke to my local radio shack equivalent in the UK and the guy said basically you would have to remove all the parts off the board if you wanted to test with a multimeter or with an oscilloscope, is that true ?

Can anyone advise me on what equipment and the best steps I would need to narrow down or pinpoint the errors.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: White screen after teardown

Dear community,

Today I opened my Ipod touch 4g. My power button is stuck so I thought why not have a look at it.

I didn't find anything there so I just put everything back together.

Then I pluged the cable into the computer. It showed me the empty battery because it had to charge, then suddenly the screen faded to white. Now nothing works anymore. I tried all the button combinations but nothing seem to work. I did read something about a hard reset but because my power button not working anymore this is impossible to do.

Maybe you guys have some good suggestions for me.

Thanks in advance!

Regards

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod won't do ANYTHING after digitizer replacement!?

So I was working on my 3rd iPod 4G digitizer replacement tonight and I got it apart just fine, nothing broken or anything, and as I;m trying to connect the LCD ribbon I thought i had it snapped into place so I turn on the iPod and nothing came on the screen. So i gave it a few more tried before I finally got the LCD cable snapped in, and once I did the LCD just kept flashing black/grey every few seconds. I tried holding the home button and power button and nothing happened it just kept flashing. I thought maybe it was the new LCD so I disconnected it and connected the original, because I knew that one worked. That one did the same thing when I put it on. I decided to try and connect it to the computer just to see what happened, and when I plugged it in I got nothing... iTunes doesnt see an iPod, my computer doesnt see an iPod, no beeps.... nothing... My question is what the %*^$ could be causing this iPod to act this way? And is there anything I can do to try and salvage it? I really hope it isn't garbage now... I'm so disappointed, I've been fiddling with it for 4 hours now trying to get it to work. Taking it apart and checking all my connections, re-assembling, and I keep ending up with the same result.

My cousin gave me his old iPod touch 1 and it has a cracked screen. I plan on fixing it and found the ifixit page for the product. It is expensive compared to the amazon ones but the amazon ones don't come with a home button, would I be able to take out the home button and put it on the amazon one? Which one should I get?
