iMac Intel 20" EMC 2105 and 2118: Graphics card replacement necessary to eliminate ghosts/pixelation?

Hello, I am thinking of purchasing (through you guys), and replacing, the Western Digital 250 GB HD on this favorite white, plastic-encased iMac due to heavy pixelation, ghosts tracks, etc. on the screen. My question is, am I making the correct replacement? Should I focus on having the graphics card replaced instead in order to resolve this problem? Is this doable, and if so, what graphics card should I be purchasing from ya'll? Lastly, if the HD replacement is the only option necessary, is it possible to increase the storage of the drive, i.e., purchase a WD drive with higher storage capacity? Thank you.

MacBook Core 2 Duo: The new hard drive won't slide in

I am installing a new 500 GB 7200 RPM Seagate SATA Hard Drive. I am at the point of sliding the new HD in the silver bracket back into the Mac, but it doesn't seem to want to go the last 1/2 cm or so. I don't want to force it as I am pushing pretty hard. When comparing the new HD to the old one, there is a difference in the area around the 4 copper pins (jumper block). The new one has a plastic collar or border (see http://www.seagate.com/images/support/en...), while the old one doesn't. Could this be making a difference?

iMac Intel 17": excessive noise from coolers after replacing hdd

The new HDD is installed on the imac has no temperature sensor connector and cable leave that loose. That is not connected. I closed the imac and OSX install correctly. But the problem is that the cooler makes excessive noise. Probe smcFanControl or programs like fancontrol but I had the solution. I recommend doing to fix this problem?

Best Regards!

Apple Time Capsule: What's the biggest HDD that will fit on my Time Capsule?

Hi guys! Big fan of yours as you've saved my butt on a couple of occasions for my Macbook 13". I just did an HDD upgrade for my Macbook and was wondering if I could do the same for Time Capsule... and I can! Prior to entering to this task, I'd like to ask you:

What's the biggest HDD (2GB/4GB) that can fit inside the Time Machine as a replacement?

I'm looking for a 7200rpm or faster drive, which would you recommend.

The guide that's on the site talks about a hybrid because its silent. I don't want silent, I want fast and spacious.

As always, thanks for all your support! Great work on the disassemblies!!!

MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo Model A1211: After HDD Replacement, Won't turn on

Replaced HDD with Seagate 7200 RPM Momentus Drive, now MacBook won't boot. Have tried resetting SCM, PRM; tried holding power button for 5 seconds, tried different power adapter - with battery, without battery. For a while, the light on power adapter was blinking orange when I tried to boot, but would not come on. Have reinstalled memory strips, have tried putting alternate memory in; have tried switching back to original HDD. It's like the machine is not getting any power - no fan, no disk, nothing.

Any ideas?

iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210: HDD fan stuck on full blast after HDD replacement

I followed the instructions to replace the 320GB Hitachi hard drive with 1 TB Western Digital - and it worked great.

Unfortunately, after starting up the early 2008 iMac, the HDD is going full speed.

The temperature on the HDD reads - 33C - which seems quite normal. I have tried to reset the SMC controls, rebooting many times and I was unable to run the Apple Hardware Test. (I upgraded my machine to Lion and I can't get the AHt to run).

I saw the HDD Fan control program - which looks like it was setup for the 2011 HDD problems. I'm not sure I want a software program for this.

Any suggestions to reduce the HDD fan or other checks?

Thanks

HP Envy dv4t-5300: How To Remove Hard Drive

Hello,

I bought a new HP dv4t-5300 notebook computer. I slid the bottom plate off to find the hard drive. I would like to take the hard drive out and replace it with an SSD. I cannot figure out to get the hard drive out. The hard drive is right there visible just like a dv6t but I don't see any screws like usually to just unscrew and remove the drive.

I also can't find any information on HP's website or forums and their tech support that I spoke to didn't know either.
