iPod 5th Generation (Video): hard drive connection to PC

Hi,

First off ,great site, helping me renew ipod without spending a fortune!

I replaced the motherboard but Itunes then wanted to format my Ipod thereby me losing alot of songs not saved on my external hard drive (stupid me!).

I got a ZIF connector but my PC now says I must format the Ipod hard drive thereby losing the songs again. How do I recover the songs from the Ipod HDD without having to format it??

Thanks!

iMac G4: I can't force the computer to boot from the cd

I bought a surplus "desk lamp" G4 from our local university to use as an auxiliary desktop, ie, I use Linux Normally, and most of my colleagues can't access my files easily.

Anyhow, the university has a deal with Apple that allows them to sell the computer with a broken OS, so that the buyer has limited access, and can see if the machine works. Mine is missing the OSX AND OS9 system folders.

I bought a new black label OSX, Tiger 10.4, which came with additional disks of other software.

I try to boot the new system, and it bypasses to the default hard drive startup.

I've pressed C while booting; I've changed the boot order in Settings. Nothing works.

The cd drive is working. It reads, and even installs from the additional disks I got.

The OSX disk is working, because it boots right up on my wife's laptop MacBook.

How can I solve this problem?

If it is the missing system files, how can they be replaced? Isntherena way to format the hard disk, and just start over with the new OSX disk I have?

Dell Inspiron N7010 laptop: Having trouble formatting hard drive. Has corrupted files

Having trouble formatting hard drive(hard drive has corrupted files)

History • Delete • Add Comment

I have a Dell Inspiron N7010 laptop with intel core i3 and windows 7. It worked fine one day, then the next day It had several warnings pop up and none of my programs or internet would work.

A window titled "file recovery " also popped up which ran tests on my hard drive listing several "critical" and "dangerous" errors.

I dont have anything on this computer I want to save except for the OS. I do not have a back up disk or file recovery disk or anything like that.

How do I format the hard drive and start over? I know I would lose the OS but that's ok. Unless someone knows a different solution?thanks

PlayStation 3: Can I replace a PS3's hard drive with one not backed up?

I had a "Fat" PS3 with a 20GB hard drive that I replaced with a 500GB drive. That system broke and I now have a new (refurbished) "Fat" system with a 20GB drive. Since the old system is broken, I cannot back up my data on the 500GB drive, so when I put it in the new system it says it needs to be formatted. Is there any way that I can use my data on the new system?
