iPhone 4: Backlight of iPhone 4 is dim after submersion

I took my iPhone in a lake a while ago, put it in rice, and tried to turn it on. It didn't work, so I ordered a battery from here, and it started working again. The only problem was the LCD backscreen was very very dim. I'm wondering how I can fix this problem.

iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210: 1/3 of Display is dim... Which part to check/replace?

I have a 2007 Aluminum iMac with a display that dimmed in the upper 1/3 of the screen (suddenly, a year or so ago). I would guess it's about 20% dimmer and gradually gets to full brightness in the bottom 2/3.

I was just about to buy an eBay LCD and follow these awesome iFixit instructions when I saw that there might be other causes to this...

So my question is: What is the easiest way to diagnose this issue? I've read here that it could be the inverter, the CCFL in the LCD, or even a loose wire. Has anyone else had this issue and gone through with a repair? If so, what ended up being the cause?

If it was the LCD, could I replace it with one from a 2009 iMac?

I was also planning to upgrade the HD so I'm looking forward to taking this thing apart... but hopefully as few times as possible!

Thank you in advance for your ideas!

MacBook Pro 17" Unibody: Leds dimming under heat?

Hello!

I have a early 2011 Macbook Pro and lately i started to notice that when my computer reaches high temperature (first signs start to show above 65ºc) i can see a dark shadow in a cone shape right above the CPU and GPU fans.

I can only see them IF my screen image is black (in this case there is a difference between the black of the rest of the screen and the black of the "shadow") or a dark almost black gray. The last scenario is the one that the shadows are most visible.

If the screen image/color is lighter its perfectly normal. For example in the Solid Colours available on the wallpaper preferences, i can't see the shadows with any of them, it must be darker then the darkest gray there. :D

The higher the temperature the most visible the shadow is. If i'm doing some very intensive stuff and the computer is like 1 hour near 90ºc, then the shadows are easy to see on a dark background.

As the temperature drops, the shadow tend to disappear.

My first thought was that this could be the leds right above the heat exits getting dimm due to the hight temperature (they get brighter on colder situations), but i would like to know if this is a normal behaviour.

Should i get worried that somewhere in the near future i will be short of 2 leds?!

Anyway, here are 2 pics of the situation. The first one is with 80'ish ºc the second one is with 30'ish ºc.

http://www.itzatez.info/Mac/hightemp.jpg

http://www.itzatez.info/Mac/lowtemp.jpg

Its a lot more visible in the naked eye. The camera didn't make it justice. :) But even so, its perfectly visible.

So, should i be worried?

P.S. - After searching a lot, when the temperatures are low (about 30ºc), i can see that in the same spot of the left side shadow the screen is a tiny tiny tiny bit brighter there.

Its really a faint difference and only noticeable when looking at it from like a 45º angle. And again only seen on very dark backgrounds.

If i look at it from the normal straight angle i can't see it.

I tried to take a picture of this, but its so subtle that the camera didn't picked it.

MacBook Core 2 Duo: Old MacBook has turned dim over time: what part should I replace?

I recently had my old white Macbook returned to me by my sister who has been using it for some time. I noticed that the screen has turned quite dim/dark over time. There's no "trauma", it never fell and was never damaged in any way; the screen just got naturally darker.

So, what should I replace? Do I need a new inverter? What's the most likely necessity to get the screen nice and bright again? Or, should I just buy a whole new screen from eBay and replace it entirely? (That sounds like it might not even work, because who knows how bright that new screen would be.)

Thanks for any help you may offer.
