MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009: case on the back of the screen is unglued

I dropped my Early 2009 MBP (dont ask) and the case on the back of the screen seems to have come unglued at one corner. when i close the screen one corner doesnt sit flush. you can lift the flap up enough to see the glue that was meant to be holding it together. is there a way of re-glueing this back? or any other suggestions?

Updates

as you can seethe screen is fine, still attached to computer, but the actual case or shell of it has come away. when i prize it open a little it is possible to see where the glue was which stuck it down. do you think i should try to glue it back? when i squeeze the lid down gently it fits back into place. if i were to glue it back is there a special glue i should use? a heat resistant one?

cheers

Power Mac G4 Cube: Innards Stuck Inside The Case

Hi, so a week ago, i bought some more ram to put in my cube, to speed it up a little bit. When i went to open it, I pushed down on the handle, it popped up, and when i grabbed it to pull the innards out, they wouldn't budge! I can't get my cube apart. It works fine, i can plug it in and use it like normal, but can't open it. I bought it about 4 years ago second-hand during the "Cube Craze" as a neat thing to keep on my desk. Does anyone have any idea how to get this thing apart? I've tried shaking it, orienting it in every direction, before pulling it out, but have had no success.

iPod Touch 3rd Generation: current leaking to back metal case while charging

I bought it two months ago. but always used it with a silicon case, maybe that's why i didnt notice it before. When ever I charge iPod with USB cable or 3rd party charger, there is a very feeble current leaking to its back metal casing. It is so feeble that i just feel a very small vibration when I touch its back. I am sure its because of the current leakage because if I sit in a bed, I wont feel that vibration. The moment I touch my leg to the ground, the vibration will start.

iPod Nano 4th Generation: Screen Cover Broke, What options do I have?

I was out running the other day, and my iPod dropped on pavement.

Luckily (I think) it still works - all but the glass screen cover broke and came off. Everything else works fine.

Here's a picture of what came out -

http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/3663/...

Here's a picture of everything working on the actual device -

Sorry they're blurry, but I think you can get the idea.

I'm assuming that if I get a replacement screen I can just snap it into place.

I also assume I can get a replacement screen somewhere.

Can someone tell me what I can do about it? Maybe where I can get a replacement cover?

Thanks for looking

MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo Models A1226 and A1260: Fix for Intermittent Screen Issues wher 2/3rds of Screen Turn White?

Hey I've got a 15" macbook pro A1226 and I accidentally dropped it about 3 feet onto the ground about a year ago. Lines would go wiggy through 2/3rds of the screen and if I lightly tapped the side they would go away... Through time the lines got worse and turned into the pixels completely going white. If I put a clothespin on the side, that would keep the screen tight with the case and it would be fine sometimes. Now I have to use one of those black heavy duty paperclip things to keep the screen working. The pressure is not applied to the lcd screen, it's on the small area of the case on the right side of the monitor.

That clip is beginning to lose out and I think the screen is getting worse. What can I do to fix this? Replace the screen? Is it expensive?

Cliffs: If I add pressure to the side it worked, but it's taking more and more pressure. What do I do?

It looks like this (pic is not mine):

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225/...

Mac Mini Mid 2011: Changing the outer case, can I put back a DVD burner?

For HTPC usage, the lack of a DVD drive in the Mac Mini Mid 2011 is a pain. Especially since you cannot presently find external enclosures with the exact same footprint.

But if I changed the outer case with the Mac Mini 2009/2010 one, could I put back a DVD drive (or Blu-ray) inside ?

What would I need in addition to this outer case : cable ? support brackets ?

EDIT : just after posting (Thanks, Murphy !) I saw this post about the exact same subject.

However, this previous post does not answer 2 important questions :

- since it is possible to connect a second HDD in the Mac ("Mac Mini Dual Hard Drive Kit"), why cannot a SATA optical drive be connected to the mid-2011 motherboard, with the proper cable ?

- how bad is the "angling required to get in the optical drive bracket" ? Is it yet feasible ? Does it damage anything ?

I am trying to figure out if i too can use this for mine, or if id have to also buy a new isight.... I am trying to replace my entire housing as it had a few accidents.. Ive already found new topcase with a bad keyboard that i am going to switch out.. thanks to i fixit showing the secrets behind what apple calls one part at 214 dollars got the top case for 50 of ebay.

SO my question is WOuld one of these work to replace mine ... would I just need to buy an new I sight too?

MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2012: Where to replace stripped MacBook 2012 screw?

Believe it or not... I've already stripped a screw trying to remove the bottom of my 13" MacBook Pro (mid-2012). I'm going to buy the Moody's extractors I've seen mentioned on here, but where can I get replacement screws?

I only need one of the longer screw length. I'm open to buying a full set, though, seeing as I still have to remove the case without stripping any additional screws.

Thanks for the help!

Nexus 7: How do I fix leaking electricity?

Hi there,

I've tried to keep good care of my Nexus 7 but when I feel around the edges, between the glass bezel and the case, where the black coloured glass meets the silver casing, I can feel a tingly feeling in my fingers indicating electrical discharge of some sort.

I'm not altogether good at electric terms, but it feels like it's leaking (the current or electricity?). Apart from that, the Nexus 7 works well.

I opened the back casing but saw nothing out of order inside. Can this have something to do with capacitators or anything inside?

Please let me know what I can do to fix this tingly sensation. I'm not using a case at the moment.

Thanks.
