iPod 5th Generation (Video): iPod won't turn on, stuck on Apple Logo Splash Screen.

Well, one day, I decided to try to sync my iPod (80 gig 5th Gen Classic) with Winamp, and, at the same time, unbeknownst to me, iTunes was doing something with it at the same time. Long story short, it won't be recognized by my laptop (Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2) and is stuck on the Apple Logo Splash Screen thing. I've tried to let it die, and then try to turn it on after a while, but that hasn't worked yet. This just happened yesterday, so the problem's still fresh. I've tried using all the wires in my possesion, and even went as far as to borrow a friend's, so I'm pretty sure it's not the wire. I've tried hard resetting it multiple times, if holding the Menu and Select button at the same time and waiting until the splash screen shows up is what hard resetting it is.. Help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

iMac Intel 24" EMC 2111: Replacing power supply with ATX PSU?

Hello everyone,

The PSU of our 2006 Intel iMac failed, replacing it with an original Apple PSU would be a tad expensive. I have a couple of questions regarding a replacement with an ATX PSU.

Is there anybody who has experience with replacing the standard PSU with an ATX one?

Does anybody know what voltage each pin from the DC-connector needs? GND, 12V and 24V, but which pin is which?

Would it be safe to connect the iMac ground to the -12V on the ATX PSU, the 12V to the 24V and the 0V to the 12V pins?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 13": Will not go past white screen w/ turning gear.

I've got a MacBook Pro that is stuck on a white screen w/ an apple on it w/ a spinning gear. I have left it doing so for over 2 hours and still nothing has happened. I have tried holding the shift key in order to boot to safe mode; once this is done, the grey bar loads but reverts back to white screen with apple on it and spinning gear. I have also tried holding down the Command+Option+P+R and it still will not get past the screen w/ apple and spinning gear. I have tried the Mac OS x Install DVD, gone to the disk utility and attempted to repair. I left this over night and returned to a still-3-hour-wait on the repair. I decided to then cancel it and noticed a "Burn Image" feature... I clicked to the Users folder and noticed my things were still there. I was going to attempt an Archive and Install but noticed that this disc (10.6 OS x) does not have an option for it that I am not seeing. How do I get my data off of this Mac? Is it possible to Archive and Install?

EDIT: Tried creating a "New Image" using Disk Utility and the error reads: "Unable to create Media Backup.dmg" (Cannot allocate memory)"

Suggestions?

Magic Mouse: How do I fix my optical movement on my apple magic mouse?

I have a magic mouse that came along with my Mid 2010 iMac 27". The mouse still responds to finger movement while scrolling and clicking. Although, the movement of the cursor completely stopped working. I've already opened the mouse to if there was anything lose in it, I couldn't find it. I've cleaned the optical area, and the whole mouse. Still, no luck. Anyone has a fix for this? Thank you!

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Questions about iPod Touch 4 disassembly

Hi! I have fixed iPhone 4 and am very comfortable working with them, but recently I have tried fixing damaged iPod touches, specifically ones with damaged screens.

These forth gen iPods have very annoying soldered flex cables for the volume and power.

Does anyone have any tips for me to avoid ripping the speaker out when removing the shield with a lot of screws? And avoid ripping that flex cable when installing the digitizer ribbon?

I have used patience and care, but they always seem to rip and become even more headaches for me!

Any tips would be appreciated thanks ;)

iPhone 4s - screen replacement: stuck in "searching," SIM not recognized, then messed it up more

I replaced my cracked screen on my iPhone 4s. To my knowledge, I did it correctly. When I turned my phone on everything looked great, but then I realized I was stuck in "searching."

I tried:

-taking out my sim card (didnt recognize "no sim"

-changing time/date

-having someone call the phone

-and DFU mode

-turning phone off with sim out and then waiting to put the sim back in once its powered up fully.

I've read all the questions already asked. Someone mentioned trying to "restore" your phone from itunes. So, i moved on to that but now my phone is bricked. It will not complete the restoring process, at the very end it gives an error -1. which i understand is a "software error."

someone had mentioned that if this happens and your mac recognizes the phone's serial numbers and information, you may be okay to fix it. but if it doesn't read those, then the phone must be replaced. My mac recognized my iphone's serial number and all of its information still. I simply cannot get it to take new software in. It is stuck in restore mode with the itunes logo and usb on the screen. I cannot get it to do anything else. Thanks for your time
