My iPod nano stops playing when turns off while on speaker, why?

| The past couple weeks i have had trouble with my ipod nano that i got for christmas. It works great with the head phones but when i plug it into the speakers at work and i switch it on, it plays music for about 2 minutes then when the ipod switches itself off the music stops playing. I have tried everything, resetting it and still have same result. What do i do or try???? |
