After screen replacement any pressure on screen activates Lock button

I replaced a cracked screen on an iPod touch 2nd gen and after everything was reassembled any pressure on the top of screen will cause the iPod to enter the lock screen. I first thought maybe a loose screw was causing a short but nothing is touch lock button.
