Title:
Stuck at dead battery image after screen replacement? [FIXED]
Text:
I've replaced a broken screen on an iPod Touch 4th generation, and the screen works fine.
After installing the screen, the iPod wouldn't turn on at all at first, so I followed advice found in a different question of grounding the +3.7 volt battery terminal, and this got the iPod to turn on. It was stuck at the Apple Logo though, so I gave up for the night.
Upon trying to use it now though, it only turns on while plugged in to a wall outlet or computer and shows the battery charging screen with charge in the red.

The device can enter DFU mode, and is detected by any computer while in it. When not in DFU mode, it is not detected but still shows the dead battery/charging screen.
