Title:

Bottom Mic Dead after Dock Connector Replacement

Text:

Recently I replaced a dock connector unit on a Verizon iPhone 4 because of corrosion on the connector. At the time, the bottom microphone worked. After replacement, all worked except the bottom microphone (the top one works fine). I've tested it using the Voice Memos app. Thinking I received a bad dock connector unit, I had a replacement sent out. After installing that dock connector assembly, the bottom mic does not work. When I record myself and play it back in Voice Memos, all I hear is what sounds like a fan spinning, but no voice, even when I scream at it.
I've tried reinstalling the dock connector, ensuring the microphone was positioned properly, but still the same result. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
'''Update:''' I did transfer the rubber boot from the original dock connector to the new one, but it still does not work.
