Try doing one thinkthing at a time and then test. If you do all three and something doesn't work, what will you look at first? I've done a T7400 2.16 Core2Duo and a T7600 2.33 Core2Duo on this machine (M sockets). The T2600 2.16 CoreDuo that I'm looking at is the same price as the 7400 Core2Duo. The T7600 will give you twice the cache and processor unless you can just steal that T2600. You should be able to upgrade the RAM to 4GB. Again no problem with a 2.5" SATA har5d drive upgrade. Now add the costs up and see if you're getting close to the price of a new machine:
