Black and White video with S-Video cable only

Are you using a S-Video Connector, an RCA conector, or a RF connector? I noticed something similar, the composite cables work in color with my SNES, but not the S-Video. It produces black and white video. However, it is not the plug because the same S-Video plug works in an N64. Try plugging the S-Video into an N64 or GameCube if you have one. Can anyone help me with my sitch?
