I have the same problem but with my 2007 15" MacBook Pro (2.4GHz C2D Santa Rosa). IsMy daughter spilled tea on the left side of the MBP. There is no key stickiness, and I took off the Option key and cleaned the area under the key including the scissor mechanism with Isopropyl alcohol. This didn't alleviate the problem. The problem doesn't occur with my bluetooth keyboard.

My question is - Is
it necessary to replace the entire upper case assembly or would replacing just the keyboard work?
