Check this answer from another question "cling1 if you check on [http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/1587/220V+power+supply|here] and [http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/18609/Is+PS3+Dual+Voltage|here] you will find that the PSU is multiple voltage as the teardown on [guide|1121|page|page=2] step 12 shows. I think the reason why it says it on the cord is because you will have to change the cord. It wont firfit other electrical outlet's.....good luck
