I don't have an iPod 4th Gen to reference to, but I'm almost certain that it has 2 chips. The 3rd generation iPod touch had a 2-chip configuration on both the 32GB and 64GB models, which would lead me to believe that the 4th generation does too. Also, the iPod touch that iFixit tore downtore-down was an 8GB model. 8GB iPods only use one chip.
