Was working. Diassembled to clean. Not working?

I recently disassembled my Sony TV remote as its case was very dirty. I cleaned the case and then reassembled it, but now it doesn't function. It only contains a printed circuit board and plastic sheet containing the buttons laid over. I cannot understand what could have gone wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
