Title:

Water damaged, all buttons broken

Text:

Hi there,

My girlfriend's iPhone 3G spent some time soaking overnight in MILK (classy, eh?) and as you can imagine is pretty goosed.

After drying it out I managed to get it booting up, had white screen of death but have now put a new LCD in and it's booting up fine, restores okay and the touchscreen works perfectly.

Unfortunately I then noticed that NONE of the buttons work. This includes the home button, volume, mute and power.

I'm trying to troubleshoot where the problem might be and wondered what these buttons are actually connected to. I read one post that suggested that most of these are connected to ribbon cable #5. Is this correct? And is the home button related to that, or will that be a dock connector problem? The dock works fine otherwise, syncs and restores just fine.

Any help appreciated!
