the iBook G3 12" keyboard does work and fit in the iBook G4 12" but the keyboard cable for the iBook G4 12" is shorter so you can't fit a G4 12" keyboard in an iBook G3 12".
You can, however, fit an iBook G4 14" keyboard in an iBook G3 12".
