Title:

Water Damage; Home button not working?

Text:

Hi All,

I dropped my iPhone in the toilet(like many have LOL) Did everything i see on the net ie, placed it in rice, placed in airing cuboard after a week the only things that wasnt working was the home button and speakers. Opened it up then cleaned it with electrical cleaner, back in rice&airing cuboard for another 3 days. Every thing is working apart from home button. Sent it off explaining what had happened, they replaced the home button which didnt resolve the issue, they have said it has extensive water damage to the circuit board!!

My question is if this is true how is everything else working just fine?? could it be something else??

I have read on here it could be the docking part.

It just seems such a shame that my phone works perfect apart from the above & im being told it is beyond repair

Many thanks for any advice/help

Bev

Just a quick update............Got my iPhone back from the repairers and it is in a continuse recovery mode loop and when i try to restore i get error 29!!!

Iv read about this and i know i did not up grade to 3.13. The only thing i did before sending it off was back up all my data on itunes.

I cant help thinking that they are using the water damage as an excuse because they have caused it to go in this loop.......i really dont know what to do or where i stand in this matter.
