Amplifier turns on in "protection mode" than plays normally

Hello. I have a problem with my car sound system. If I turn it on when it hasn't been played for several days, it will turn on and play music as it should. It sounds great and powerful like it should. It will play for as long as I leave it on.
The problem shows up after. If I turn off the system for more than 30 minutes but less than a couple of days, than one of the amplifiers will simply go in protection mode and makes very loud "pops". If I hit a bump while driving or if I tap on the amplifier, it will create distortion in the speakers. Sometimes, the music will just come back as it should play after a variable amount of time (2-3 minutes to a couple of hours of "pops" and then normal music will play).
That problem only comes when the system played shortly before. If i leave the system off for for more than three days and then I turn it on, the music will play right away without any problem.
It is hard to identify the cause and even harder to find the solution.
As part of the troubleshooting sequence while it was poping into protection, I have disconnected the RCA inputs and all the speaker wires from the Amplifier. Only the power and the remote turn on wires were still connected, but the problem was still there. So far, the only way to make the system play is to leave it off a couple of days.
