MacBook shuts down then starts up again?

When I shut down or put my MacBook to sleep it performs this task, but within a few seconds of the screen going black the MacBook restarts up again. I can only shut it down by pressing the power button and holding for a few seconds.
I have checked energy saver settings and they look ok.
