Title:

Possible Backlight problem after water damage.

Text:

Hi everyone,

About a month and a half ago I dropped my Itouch into the bathtub. It's a 3rd Generation, 32 GB...I took it out immediately and the screen got very, very bright and then faded out to dark...Also my iPod got hot after that...

I quickly put it in dry rice and then I kept it there for two weeks and then I turned it on and it came on but the screen was dark...I angled it so I could see what was on the screen and I tested it out and everything worked fine on it...It just had a dark screen...

So I put it in rice for a little longer and then tried it again and the screen light up but only stayed on for a short time...Maybe 30 seconds or so...

More rice time and a few days later I tried it again and it stayed light longer...But the screen still went dark...

I finally took it out of the rice thinking that after a month in the rice, it must have been dry enough inside...

I didn't touch it for about a week to a week and a half and then yesterday I turned it on and the screen stayed lit for about half an hour before going dark...

So, I'm wondering if it might be a back light issue or if there's something else going on...

Does anyone have any advice?...

Thanks in advance!
