Title:

Ram slot not functioning correctly when inserting new ram over 500mb

Text:

I recently replaced my 2 RAM chips from 1gb for each slot to 2gb for each slot, but found that when I tried to start the laptop it would either start for a short time then display a blue screen of death or not start at all.

I then removed one of the chips & found that the laptop worked fine. After a few goes of mixing & matching with the chips I had at hand I found that one of the 2 slots available would only work with a chip that was no greater than 500mb, making a total of 2.5GB.

I hope that this problem can be resolved as I would like to be able to run my laptop with the 4GB of ram.

Thank you
