iPod Nano 3rd Generation: iPod nano 3rd generation stuck in"Use iTunes to restore" screen.

after I synced the ipod with my windows 7 laptop, the ipod, all of a sudden, turned off. Then it powered on and came to the "Use iTunes to restore" screen. When i connect it to the laptop, the ipod automatically enters into disk mode and while restoring, the ipod stays in the "do not disconnect" screen. After iTunes completes restoring, the message "Your iPod has been restored to factory settings, and is restarting. Please leave your iPod connected. It will appear in the iTunes window after it restarts." but after the ipod restarts, the same "use iTunes to restore" screen comes up and itunes detects it in recovery mode.

Please help me with this problem.

I ordered a new headphone jack from apple that appears to also have the on/off or hold switch on the other end. There is a brown sort of wiring that connect the two (headphone jack and what looks to be the on/off or hold switch) that goes at the top left when your facing the unit. I Was just wondering after I completely remove the Logic Board will it be somewhat self explanitory to install the headphone jack? I have also read that the headphone jack is integrated into the logic board but the boards are like $100+ to replace. Is there a work around or is it time to toss my old nano? Thanks in advance and I couldn't find a definite answer on here.

i bought a ipod nano about 2008 and now i open it! i pluged it to computer and also installed itunes, but none of my computer nor itunes doesn't recognize the ipod and only a logo of apple blinking in the screen, even i leave it for about 4-5 hours pluged ti computer but there is no sign of charging in the screen!

The central button fell off. I was able to continue using the iPod by pressing the electrode directly, but after a lot of wear the electrode broke and fell off. Is there any way to fix this?

I have made sure my iPod was fully charged, it's not charged now, and then toggled the hold button, but it didn't do anything.. i even held the center button and the menu button while toggling it and it still didn't do much. I have the same problem as Angela but my screen is always black, when I try to reset it (by holding the menu and select button for 6sec) it just powers off and back on but still gives the black screen. Then it beebs 2 times, just like Angela's I suppose. I just tried to reset it via iTunes but it still shows a black screen. I can hear the clicks when I use the click wheel. What do I do ?

My ipod nano 3rd gen will power on and respond to the hold button. I have reset it from the computer but it will not reset from the scroll wheel no matter what I do. Everything except the scroll wheel seems to be fine so I sent it off to get it get it looked at at a recommended website thinking it shouldn't cost much since I thought it would just be the scroll wheel. They said it would be $150 and that it needed a new logic and face plate. I was quite surprised at both since its face plate was fine and I figured the logic board was fine too since only the scroll wheel seems to not work. Does it sound like the scroll wheel is the only problem and the site was just trying to make some $, or should I replace it all?

Ok, so I have an extremely beat up 3rd gen iPod nano, but the only way I can charge it is putting it on an iPod dock, which will charge it but not play music while it on the dock (you can connect a stereo plug into it and works fine.) In addition, it is not recognized by the computer when connected via usb and does not charge. How do I fix?

TL;DR: charging works only when connected to iPod dock, data works never... why/what do?

EDIT: The cable is not faulty, it works with other devices, and I have tried other cables.

i have a 3rd generation ipod nano and when i plug it into my computer, it needs to be reset when it's plugged in. But this time after i reseted it my ipod ended up needing to be restored. So i did. then a message came up saying that it had some files that are being used by another application.

what does this mean and how can i fix it?

by reset i mean turning the 'hold' button on and off and then pressing the center button and menu button for 6 sec.

iPod went through the wash, Head phones and all. I let it dry out and have it sitting in rice currently..

It will come on, but after doing so the click wheel and other buttons won't respond at all. Except it will let me reset (menu + center) Should I just let it dry out more or is there something else wrong?

When connected to the computer, everything works fine, all files are there.

Any advice at all is sincerely appreciated!!

Has anyone else encountered this? Some of the tracks in my Ipod Nano will only play for 5-10 seconds and some as long as a minute or two. These songs are in the minority, but it has been a consistent problem for as long as I have owned this Ipod. These same songs play fine on Itunes on my PC, but do not play in their entirety on my Ipod Nano. Thoughts? Ideas?

no matter what I try my ipods trackwheel and select button will not respond when i push them. The colors on most of my display screen are currently inverted. I'm not sure how it happened but all but a thin strip on the left edge of the screen is inverted. I have tried resetting it multiple times and even restored it but the problem hasn't gone away. I read through the Apple support stuff and actually found someone with the same problem but Apple simply told whoever it was to reset it. Which I have already done. Can anybody help me?
