iPhone 4: iPhone 4, water damaged, turns on, changed battery dont recognized

Hi,

I have this Iphone 4, with water damage.

Symptoms

1. Turns On ONLY if connected to USB.

a) Connected to laptop -- Iphone only loops the apple logo

b)Connected to wall -- Iphone turns on and display

message ´Connect to Itunes` after a few seconds, it

reboot.

After reviewing concern topics, i decided to:

1. Open Iphone

2. Clean all contacts , corrosive formations with

isopropilyc alcohol. I also removed the heat shields

for a deep clean.

3. Changed battery for a new one ( the older doesn`t

show to be expanded due the water).

Nothing worked : (

My theory is that both battery works fine (older and new one) because it shows same symptom after battery replacement. The dock connector looks good because it work when plug, but doesnt work 100% at all.

'''For the last test, i removed battery, connected to USB, and turns on, same symptoms.

''' so it´s not a battery problem....maybe a blown fuse?

Did someone knows whats going on?

Help will be really precious.

iPhone 4: Why "No Service" after replacing LCD screen?

Just replaced a broken screen and now the phone says "No Service". It detects the sim card and I was able to go into home screen after inserting sim card and plugging into iTunes. But it does not detect any service networks. It says "Searching...." then goes to "No Service"

There might be a few screws that aren't exactly the right size and I've tried switching some of them to no avail. I am sure the screw for the battery connector is correct.

I am told the antenna is connected via screws?

Any help would be appreciated.

My phone took a very brief dunk resulting in no music play through the speaker. Seems to be a common problem. Everything else works.
iPhone 4: Blank screen after screen replacement, but phone is still working

Hi People.

First off let me say, that i have changed 60/70 screens succesfully already.

Anyways, got a broken iPhone 4 32gb from one of my brothers friends, with a broken screen (cracked, could light up but displayed no image). I don't know the history if the phone. After taking it apart, it is clear that someone with no skills whatsoever has been messing with it, and the screen was not an original one. Several screw where overscrewed, the clip for the battery is missing, the speaker is semi-broken, and only 2/5 screws for the top cover is still there.

Anyways, after having installed a screen that i know works (tested in a different phone), the problem is still there. It lights up, but shows either completely white or rather obscure colors.

I was able to take a couple of screenshots with it, and after hooking it up to my computer, these show the "insert SIM" screen.

I can't activate via iTunes, but iTunes recognizes it as an iPhone.

The water-indicator is still white, so I don't think it has been in water.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong? I have checked the connection to the screen 4/5 times and tested with a different screen, same result.

Thank you so much!

Regards

iPhone 4: Replaced iPhone4 battery. Now randomly restarts and battery % broken!

My wife's iPhone4 (AT&T) battery was draining very quickly so we bought a replacement through iFixIt.com. I followed the steps exactly, and thought I had performed the upgrade perfectly. Now we are running into issues.

First off, the battery % indicator doesn't seem to increase when on the charger. For example, my wife had 55% battery power when she went to sleep and put the phone on the charger. When she woke up, still 55%. She restarted the phone, which then dropped the battery level to 22% (even though it had been on the charger all night).

Now the phone is randomly restarting by going black, then immediately to the startup screen (white Apple logo). It restarts very often.

Obviously something is very wrong. Could it be that the battery we received was a lemon? I had no trouble with the installation. The phone does make and receive calls, when it's not randomly restarting.

I reinstalled the old "quick to drain" battery, and the problems stopped. The phone no longer randomly restarts, and the battery indicator level (%) does increase while being charged. It's looking like the new battery itself is the issue.

Please help! My wife can't live without her iPhone.

After teardown for screen replacement, I've a problem of connection(s) with my iPhone.

Except wifi, non other connection works : no gps, no gsm, no gps.

At the begin, I was thinking that my problem come from the missing (blue) inductor who's normally present on the bottom on the logic board (between silver and cooper connectors) and bridge it.
iPhone 4: After Screen replacement, bright spots in the corners

Hey Guys.

I'm repairing iPhones since 3 years now, but the last two iPhones showed some bright spots in the corners. They come, when I push the edges of the glass (not very powerful). This can't be normal. Is it possible, that I have any repairing mistake by attaching the Front Assembly on the frame?

Thanks.
